I loved your article and the examples. I get lots of CVs submitted for review and I found your examples very interesting and amusing.

However, to give a little serious advice, the most important thing to remember if you want to write your own cv is to be selective and prioritise the information.

Many CVs I receive are so long and detailed that, just as you say in your article, there's no chance that a prospective employer could spare the time to read and understand them.

The other big mistake that most people make is including what I call 'perceptions'. By this I mean things which are not facts but simply a matter of opinion.

Just because you describe yourself in glowing terms it is unlikely that the employer will simply take your word for it.

And, lastly, don't ever try to 'big up' your skills and achievements. Remember that if you are applying at the right level, the employers will be looking for somebody just like you, and you don't need to exaggerate or embroider the truth in order to impress.
